SlabCam © is photographic tool which enables the core analyst or petrophysicist to analyze both micrographs and core photographs. Images in these standard formats are supported:

JPEG GIF TIF Sun Raster HDF

Core Photographs may be concatenated into montages for depth correlation with core and downhole logs. Simarly, white light and ultraviolet light images may be paired in a depth correlated montage.

Micrographs (thin sections) may be filtered with one of several operations including erode, dilate, edge detect, etc. which can identify morphology and statistical functions can show size, color, intensity and shape distributions.
